I have two Savages a 93 in .22 magnum is my Coyote hunter, and. 243 Axis my only scoped rifles. Both are more accurate at distance than I am. Taken a number of yotes with the. 22 but never taken game with the. 243. Every big game animals i have taken have been within about 30 yards mostly with bow, handgun or roundball smoke pole.

I can honestly say i doubt i have ever shot at distance. Looks like a mile to me lol. Guess that's a huge hole in my shooting I should rectify this summer.
I used to some, but for a long time i never had a place to shoot far. this new club i joined goes out to 200 yards. i shot at 150 the other day. but it was bad windy and all i know how to do is kentucky windage. lol

My factory Savage 110 .308 heavy barrel varmint shoots under 2” at 300 yards…100 are small cloverleafs.

Between the two? Savage, hands down. I had a similar model you pictured (110 BA) in 6.5CM briefly, and while I hadn’t found its favorite loads, it would put 120gr American Whitetail soft points under 1” at 100yds…

All the savage rifles i have are in 110's. 2 300wm & 1 338lm factory's. Also have 2 actions only for a 264wm & 300wm builds. Apparently not all 110's are created equal? On another forum some state the actions stick/drag more than other 110's? IIRC, it's the axis (not sure if it's the 2 version or not) models? I've been trying to find the thread associated with them. The stealth model you posted are great and smooth actions. I have 2 of those (300wm and 338lm). If you get the precision models the barrels are longer.

Had the Ruger in 6.5CM 26" barrel several years ago. With my handloads it consistently shot sub-moa (1/2" to3/4") at 100 yds pretty close to the same at 200yds as long as I did my part.

Most of my longer shooting of 100 yards or better are from a position in the hay storage area of my cousins barn. They are over running and hurting her chickens and goats.

I lay up there on a couple old pads. Only problem is I sometimes fall asleep lol. Getting old lol.

I had a Gen 1 RPR in 6.5CM. It shot well but was too big & heavy for my "field" needs, so if you just want to shoot it off a bench at a range or a overmatch point, or you don't mind packing noticable weight (even more once you have the optic on it) then it's a viable option.

I have no experience with any Savage beyond a "99" or "2400" so I can't say anything about that option.

it's always fun having a medium to large bore for close range fun 🥳 🥳 🥳 🥳 ! if looking for factory offerings can be limiting when finding a cartridge you want and that's why i go custom to building my lego's. the worse part is waiting on the barrels and actions to get shipped! stocks and triggers are the easy part!

what other choices would you decide on other than 7prc for your range fun? in the 28cals, i wouldn't choose the 28n as barrel life can be between 500 and 800 rounds. that is subjective for sure as my goat is the 264wm that i've run 2500+ thru that's still (last time i shot it) had under 1moa. and it's supposed to be a barrel burner?

the 2nd pic is the stealth model i have in 300 & 338. dry weight is around 10#.

Highpower Rifle has always been my favorite competition (or any type of) shooting. After my back told me to stop shooting the sitting position (at least) I had to go prone.
A friend had a river bottom field on the family farm that made a perfect range. An old RR right-of-way by the river made a great elevated firing line. A big buff on the opposite side formed a natural berm. We could get 700 yards from a couple of spots.
That was great fun until they sold it.

Now, I have to enter some F-class matches each year to get my distance shooting. Midrange is 300-500 yards. Long Range is 800-1000.
It's great fun, but I can't get there enough.
