The only way I have found to push back against dogmatic and unthinking anti-2nd Amendment officials, elected and appointed, is to work on campaigns of pro-2nd Amendment candidates. My long experience indicates that because so much money now comes into a race for Congress (up to $25 per vote in my state!) the media become entirely saturated. We stop answering polls or listening to ads. Therefore campaign workers and their volunteer work has become much more valuable over time. Write letters to newspapers, knock on doors, and offer to do whatever the campaign needs. I man phones, go door-to-door on Saturdays, help with the 4th of July parade effort, etc. etc. When we elect good people then the bureaucracy appoints better bureaucrats.
