Staff Sgt. David Bahten, U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, claimed the win in the prestigious President's 100 Rifle Match at the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) National Matches in Camp Perry, Ohio today.
The course of fire included 10 standing shots from 200 yards in 10 minutes,
10 prone from standing shots from 300 yards in 70 seconds,
10 prone shots from 600 yards in 10 minutes and
10 prone shots from 600 yards in 50 seconds for each shot.
Bahten's score of 298-14x beat out 162 other competitors. This score put him in the Finals with the other top 19 competitors, which included seven other USAMU Soldiers.
In the Finals, Bahten lead with a 93-2x to secure the win with a total of 391-16x.
Spc. Dustin Carr and Staff Sgt. Jarrod McGaffic followed Bahten in second and third.
