Prodigy Thumb safety over travel

Does any one here with the Prodigy has over travel on the thumb safety? Meaning you can push it slightly down after disengaging the safety. I wonder if this is common to the Prodigy.
How much is slightly?
I remember that both my 1911’s the thumb safety would move down about a MM after disengagement, never a concern for me.
There are multiple threads on the forum concerning issues with the Prodigy and I want to say some include posts about thumb safety concerns , if you use the search function you should be able to find them.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Thank you. It's slight that I can hear it click. The safety is functional as it bounces up to where it should be.

Exactly and you’re welcome, I should have added that to what I experienced.
Some of the posts I remember were concerning the safety lever would become very loose close to falling out.
If yours remains firmly in its place and works as it should You should be fine.

Keep this in mind, Springfield Armory has the best customer service department and if you have any issues you can call them to have your concerns addressed.

I'll give them a call and see what they say. I did saw a post on another forum stating the same but as long as the safety is functional, I shouldn't worry about it.

Mine has a very slight amount of over-travel (<mm), if I'm making a point of pushing it down and paying attention to it. But for normal use, it is unnoticeable and doesn't affect anything.
Mine is very slight also, an mm or less, and have to make a point to push it down. I guess I have to remind myself that this is not a Nighthawk Custom.

I sent mine in for a failure to feed and eject issue and they replaced the safety as well. Didn't even really notice an issue but when I got it back, the safety was crisp and doesn't move even a mm now when engaged or disengaged.

They must have given it a once over and found it was out of spec or something.

I'd definitely send it in. Turn around was 10 days total.

I’d tell you, but…

That’s good to know. Thanks
