My camper is designated a
“Bunk House” meaning two bunks in the back end, since I don’t bring kids I use it for storage however it’s tough climbing up on the top bunk to get things in the back. I’m working to remove the bunks and make a walk in closet with shelves the storage area under the bottom bunk which is accessible from the outside will end up being made smaller but still usable. I’ll post pictures of the progress.

I would like to build an ar9, but I obviously do not know where to look for parts. Everything I find makes the cost to where I may as well buy a complete one.
Do you're homework when building an AR-9 as these are kinda in the same category as an AR-10 when it comes to comparability.

AR-9 lowers are typically setup for a specific magazine type with the most common types being Glock or Colt smh mags.

Not all AR-9's have a last round volt hold open feature nor are all uppers and lowers compatible.

Spikes AR-9 lower is a great platform to build off of because it comes standard with LRBHO and you can get it in Glock or Colt mag styles.

Checkout Primary Arms, Joe Bobs Outfitters, & Midway USA for parts.

Here's an AR-9 I've posted previously on the forum that I put together using parts from the three different online stores I mentioned.

I always thought if we took the camper for longer periods, one with a bunk set up in the back would be nice for extra clothes and even a small deep freeze.

That looks a lot like one I would want to build. What is the barrel length on it?

It has an Odin Works 7.5in stainless barrel and an SLR forward compensator on the end of it.

I used a Faxon BCG with Kaw valley 7.5oz buffer weight and an AR-10 buffer spring for the recoil system and it fires flawlessly without an issue.

Pistol caliber direct blow back AR's require a much heavier buffer weight and spring then the direct impingement or piston systems found in rifle caliber AR's.

The BCG on pistol caliber AR's do not use a locking bolt either.

It was a fun build and one of my favorite AR's to shoot.

Getting rid of the bunks is going to open up a lot of room everywhere, I already put in a full size Queen bed up front so I’m going to set it up so clothes and changing clothes will be done in the back. Shelves for more clothing.

Nice. That is exactly what I am thinking.
Yeah I know the blow back design requires a heavier buffer, I have done every mod possible to reduce recoil in the ar9 I have. Still have not tested it out because of the injury deal, but I am hoping it really tames it down. Not that they kick like a mule, but follow up shots and back on target fast is what I am thinking. I could have chose different for the compensator to reduce it further yet, but chose one that directs it forward so there is less db's for the shooter. All in all it is coming along, again I have not shot it.

With the heavier BCG that is standard for a pistol caliber AR and the extra weight buffer these end up being pretty heavy firearms for their size and the recoil is typically very tame from the weight of the pistol alone.
