I pay no fees, the course is run by the Sheriff, and I love shooting the revolver like old times. The Florida LEOSA qual course is dictated by the FDLE training division, and is the same qual course active officers must shoot annually for certification. Instructors running the qual course have to be active FDLE certified instructors. Not to get off topic think we talked on another thread about this but places that “require” bot Revolver and Semi quals for LEOSA are running a scam OR the ones running it get LEOSA confused with their department policy as it’s not a LEOSA requirement. But until someone challenges it in that district gotta do what you have to I get it.
That is why I don’t run any reload requirements when I run LEOSA quals. While in a perfect world I’d love to I have folks showing up that were the barely qualified fools when they were active and I watch them fiddle fart with their gun that they have shoot every year to qualify for act like it’s the first time ever fish out of water so to speak.
Yeah but I have boxer shorts older than some of those range officers.HG you're not that old
To be an Indiana LE instructor you have to be ILEA certified. The certs are good as instructor for 3 years but to get recertified or keep it you have to be affiliated with an agency (Officer Deputy Jail Commander etc)I pay no fees, the course is run by the Sheriff, and I love shooting the revolver like old times. It is low rent of agencies to not provide quals. Some states simply don't like LEOSA and don't want to play nice.To be an Indiana LE instructor you have to be ILEA certified. The issue I am seeing here (as in it really concerns me) is Sheriffs and or Chiefs (and maybe Mayors are directing it) they are not allowing their agency or instructors to run LEOSA quals. There is a false belief they are somehow liable for the retiree if they get hemmed up. Which is BS
I am working with a state legislator to get a bill drafted to 1 so away with that and allow any ILeA instructor to be able to qualify. 2 expand the amount of folks that can qualify LEOSA as allowing folks that retire from agencies to keep their instructor certificates through ILEA so they can continue providing a venue for folks to qualify at
This should keep the few places from making bank here. 1 place charges 75 for the first gun and 25 for the second requiring both revolver and auto which is t a LEOSA requirement
I change 10 bucks and run it once a year only to cover my insurance targets and miscellaneous supplies as well as renting the bay at my range.
ILEA charges like 30-40 bucks a pop. But they don’t require different guns.
I be love my 625 in 45 acp and for running a competition moon clips are hard to beat.Twist. Thats what I got used to when we used S&W 65's as duty weapons. Never tried the push type. Don't mind a good dump pouch or belt loop. All in all, speed strips for CC. Moon clips are fast but, in my experience, they tend to get bent/sprung and can drag or even tie up a gun.
Is that a 625 Mountain Gun?I be love my 625 in 45 acp and for running a competition moon clips are hard to beat.
That said they are less desirable for carry as they be bad as mentioned And they are bulky, you have to load or unload how ever many round of clip full moon, half moon or 1/3rd
I also run a model 65 time to time great K frame mine is a laser if I don’t pull a round like I did here
Pretty much. People become Sheriff or Chief and they get that lobotomy or something like they personally don’t like LEOSA so they throw up their spike stripsIt is low rent of agencies to not provide quals. Some states simply don't like LEOSA and don't want to play nice.
Push harderI could never get the "push-ones" to work for me so I do the "twist:".
Push harder
my 1917 S&W is the only gun I regret getting rid of.I be love my 625 in 45 acp and for running a competition moon clips are hard to beat.
