Question?

It would have to be a replacement stock. AFTER you filed your SBR Form 1.

MFT Minimalist is one of my Favs. B5 Systems is really solid too. Magpul stocks are ok. I'm not running down to the store to grab one, but i'll leave it on if the gun came with one on. Personally, I can't stand anything about BCM stocks. The fit, form, and function... just doesn't do it for me.

I was under the impression you just had to get rid of your sba3 to be compliant with the new law. True?
No. You have to file Form 1 first. When you get your stamp you can then add a stock. To do it before getting the stamp would be assembling an illegal short barreled rifle and make you a felon. At least in the world we knew before Jan 13. With this new NFA ruling - whenever that hits - a brace will automatically make all pistols illegal SBRs.

What ? So you've graduated from recommending people register their :poop: with the government to claiming it is their only option ?

Yes. No brace = no braced pistol. You can't put a stock on it without SBR'ing it. You would have to remove and "Destroy" the brace or dispose of it and run the gun with just a buffer tube. Which is better than a brace anyway in my opinion. Put one of those foam pads on the tube and call it a day.

Or register your weapon with the government.

You want a replacement stock. After you SBR it. For free.

There’s a lot of good stocks out there. Magpul are ok but pretty basic. Bravo Company and B5 Systems are used on several of the Saint models. I have a Mission First Tactical Minimalist stock that I like a lot.
Nothing in this world is free. When the dust settles and the government comes after all you guys for their $200, I'll be over here in my tin foil hat and my unbraced, unregistered AR pistol saying I told you so.

Well, if - when - or they get around to deciding to collect the $200, I’ll worry about it then. Until then its a free stamp. IF they ever come to collect the tax, then i’ll pay the $200.
No one can say if they will collect the fee ever or if they wont. Pure speculation

Pffftt.. I have a stabilizing brace for all my pistols, completely free, legal and unregistered.

It’s called a “support hand”.😜
