Well politicians and unions are in bed together.I think it’s terrible the rail unions will have to accept the rail labor agreement that was passed by the senate and house. And I can’t believe the rail workers still won’t have sick leave. SAD!!
Biden literally told a reporter that things are getting better thanks to his politics and that if people can't afford groceries they should change brands. Can you believe that ? How out of touch. They tout 6% inflation as if it were a good thing. Not that 6% is even remotely accurate incidentally. My grocery bills are at least 40% higher. And energy bills ? Fugettaboutit. More people are going to food banks now than during the pandemic.Ya, govt wants to make people do when it affects them, but care less about inflation when it hits you bad!
i had only worked for 1 union trucking company, and i can assure everyone, that we did not get sick days either. we too had to use a personal day, and even those were like maybe 5 days a year, and that would not roll over into the next year.I have a hard time shedding tears for those who don't have sick days. One helluva lot of people out here who work for less money than they do who have to use vacation time when they happen to get sick.
Sounds like a bunch of entitled whiney asses want our sympathy. If it's that important, go take another job where you get sick days.

I guess Golden Corral was bookedThis of course following a “State House”
Dinner for hundreds where they were all served very expensive lobsters, you can bet the White House didn’t buy them at an inexpensive grocery store.
Remember o bama telling people if their car used too much gas just go buy a new one.Biden literally told a reporter that things are getting better thanks to his politics and that if people can't afford groceries they should change brands. up here Good Friday was never really in the contract that i can recall.I work for a public utility. We have an in house union. Which effectively means no union. We get 9 holidays a year. Two contracts ago they took MLK Day, Good Friday and Veteran's Day. My buddy Terrance stood up at the vote meeting and said " I'm a black catholic, veteran and this is some BS".
We traded some other holiday for the day after thanksgiving. I think memorial day or something.up here Good Friday was never really in the contract that i can recall.
neither was MLK ever.
Veterans Day as well was not in the contract as a day off, but, a driver could take it off, and be paid. most of us worked instead, as then the company gave us the day after Thanksgiving Day, for a 4 day weekend. we really liked that more than 1 single day off.
Columbus Day was not in the contract as well. Labor Day was, July 4th was, Memorial Day was.
When I was growing up the unions asked for so much that the steel mills said that was enough and moved out. Caused a lot of changes & a lot of folks in my generation moved.
BTW, the news reported that the rail workers get ~40 days of holiday time per year so that can be used when one would get sick.

Between Vacation, PTO ( sick time) and holidays I have 48 paid days off a year.I have to wonder what they mean by "holiday," vacation time? I have to wonder because rail workers get 11 paid holidays and 4 personal days. The two rail workers I know certainly don't get 40 days of paid holidays.
