Random Thoughts on Weapon Lights, Flashlights, Training, and The Gun World’s Cancel Culture

Guy writes an entire article about social media calling Ken Hackathorn a Fudd and let’s face it Ken can be pretty good with the condescending attitude and that look on his face like someone held an SCCY under his nose, but the real Fudd is the author who is appalled by the free-for-all that is social media. Sit down Boomer, social media is not for you.

Hans, Can you expound on the why here?
You use a handheld to determine if there is a threat; you use the weapon light to neutralize it.

Both can be used for the other purpose (it’s easier to use the handheld in both roles, though—you can use a weapon light to search and not necessarily muzzle anything you don’t want to destroy by bouncing the beam off a wall or ceiling, but…this takes training).

If you’re only going to have one—have a handheld.

I know a state police agency that a large number of monthly disciplinary letters were from using their WML on a Handgun to read a drivers license and the drivers complained and the body and dash cam got pulled and they get a couple days vacation.
GOOD!
Every 3-4 years some poor bastard gets whacked during deer season because his friend was checking on him using a rifle scope for binoculars.

Here is a great rebuttals from Paul Howe and explains why those that try and say they point their gun at the floor or ceiling can’t really articulate if they see a weapon or not. If the critics of the first video would just learn their role and they aren’t going to be making a total darkness “hit” that’d be great
