Took a co worker who is brand new to rifles and rifle shooting.
Walked him thru purchasing his first rifle. He wanted an AR. Handled a Saint B5, Sig Tread, S&W and DD. He settled on a Saint B5.
Cleaned it up and headed to the range this morning. 95+ degrees and climbing. Hot, hot, hot.
Worked out some fundamentals on shooting and his rifle fundamentals.
He loved it. Showed him how to zero his red dot. He Banged away on 70 rounds of 5.56 &.223 and improved with each 10 round mag. Had him run 10 to slow down and relax between shooting sessions.
Shot my Suppressed Saint Victor foe sidexside comparison of suppressed vs non.
He’s going Monday to buy a suppressor and NFA wait times
Then broke out the big boys for him.
My Springfield M1A and Colt LE901 for 50 yard targets.
After some test runs of 2-3 rounds, he settled in with the scope/.308.
He managed his last 3 rd group on the Colt to hit 3 rounds in the size of a quarter. Pretty good for a newbie.
