Range Report: NGD, Shakedown Session w/Ronin, 3/28/25

Hi,

Your shooting has improved from last session it seems. Maybe just better with certain firearms? Doing good my friend!

You say the sweetest things.

I still have my good days and bad. I just hope I start having more good days before my eyesight goes completely south. I think you are correct in that I do better with some handguns than with others. But, for the very first time using it, I shot that Ronin better than others I've had for years. I see some fun range days coming up.

Wow! Good shooting there Cliff! I have a Ronin 4” and it’s a fine shooter. Haven’t had any failures with it and it has a couple hundred through it. The 5” must be a dream. Great report as always, my friend.

When are you going to be putting up posts on your new 226? The suspense is killing me!

when i first went to the range with my ronin with the alum main frame like yours
i found myself hitting target LOW at 25 feet
took me a few to sort out the lightness, compared to my other 1911s, then i was anticipating and really got fluckererd up
broke out the YOU suck target and within 30 or so rounds i was where i needed to be
great sharing of your adventures

I know...between the state of Minnesota and the Fed, . My Canadian pensions are killing us. They aren't supposed to be taxed twice (supposedly there's a reciprocity agreement between Canada and the US, but I call BS).

I wouldn’t worry about it, 16lb is the normal, I just replace mine when it’s time with the heavier 18 1/2 lb, your Garrison should be fine, Springfield uses the 16lb from factory in the .45

Ha! I printed a few of those "You Suck" targets and take one to the range occasionally. It's good to keep my ego in check.

Does your Ronin have the adjustable rear sight? I think I've just about got mine dialed in.
