Hey everyone,
Yes, it was a fun and interesting day at the range. I had brought my new XD9 Mod.3 with its newly installed HE507c along with the XD45 Mod.2 Tactical and its newly zeroed laser on the WML.
I started with the XD9 and a target I don't normally use. It was given to me the last time I visited the range. I sent it out to 10 yards and turned on the Holosun with all the default and zero settings, right out of the box.
I put five hits on it and it came back like this.
OK, it's a little low but, wow, four hits in one hole. It took me a couple of strings and a couple of clicks to get it closer. Still shooting at 10 yards here.
Now that I think I've got it close, let's use a B-8 center at 10 yards and see how these old eyes can use this optic.
I guess I wasn't paying attention and got one bad flyer. How about another B-8?
OK, seven hits in the 10 ring. Can the old country bass player do any better? Here's #3.
Oh drat. More hits in the X ring but still one bad flyer in the 8 ring. I'm down to my last two magazines (10-shot strings) so I'm going to push this one out to 12 yards and see what happens.
Hey! All in the black and all but three in the 10 ring. Let's push it out to 15 yards for the last magazine.
They all stayed on the 8" reactive circle. Cool. Perhaps with a little more practice I can tighten it up at 15 yards.
The fun's not over yet! I'll be back in the next post to show you the XD45 with its laser. Woot!
Thank you for your indulgence,
BassCliff
