To whom it may concern,
Today I met my middle daughter at the range for some fun time. The grandkids were in school and mommy needs time out of the house, right? We'd planned to meet at noon and I was almost late. I forgot I had to knock the snow off of my truck before I could drive. Doh!
Daughter was running a couple minutes late too so it was no big deal. We checked in and were assigned lane #10. I told the guy at the counter, "That's my favorite lane!" Daughter laughed and told me, "That's what you said last time when we were on #3." What can I say? They're all my favorite.
We brought out all of our range toys. All we are missing is SIL's G17, but who wants to shoot that?
Daughter started with her P238. I've ordered a couple of extra magazines for her. She has only one.
She really liked shooting my P22. Once she got the sight picture and hold figured out she did really well. We shot at 10 yards for the whole session.
Actually, I don't think the distance markings on the wall are all that accurate. Thirty feet here seems a bit longer than thirty feet in my basement. But I'm not making excuses. I just stuck a few reactive circles on a silhouette so we could put holes in it. I was hoping the 4" circles would help me to "aim small, miss small" but they didn't help as much as they did last week. I was just having too much fun hanging out.
Daughter really gets a kick out of my little cowboy gun. I didn't shoot this one today. She just kept loading cylinder after cylinder.
Daughter had to leave to pick up the kids. I stayed a little longer so I could try some serious shooting with my Garrison. I boggles my mind that I can get 6 hits in the 10 ring and the rest are out of the black.
I stuck on another 8" reactive and used a few magazines (30-ish shots) to try and make a big ragged hole. I just wish I could move that hole more towards the center. Plus, I let a few get low/left just off the target. Drat.
I don't know if you can tell but it was still snowing when I left. I'm loving the cold weather and wish it would snow more. Bring it on!
Once I get a shotgun I'll work out at the local shotgun club. They shoot in the snow. I drove by the other day and it looked like there was a lot of fun happening. It seems the membership is really cheap. I just need to decide on a shotgun, maybe a combo for hunting and home defense. But I digress. Thanks for letting me share my fun. So how was your week?
Thank you for your indulgence,
