Red dot optics

Well after going for my CCL 16 hour classes last weekend, my red dot decided to give up on my S&W M&P 2.0 in 10MM. Vortex was emailed and got a response really quick to send it in to be fixed. Since then I put on a different optic to try when I go to range. What I am wondering about is if I get the SA XDm elite (Illinois legal) in 10MM, will it be picky as the S&W M&P?

I don't know much about 10mm, but I have an XDM Elite in 9mm and it runs everything I feed it, and I only run 124gr. Every gun is different though. I have had issues with certain guns running certain ammo that other members here had no issues with. It has been my experience that guns are as individual as people are.

Off topic a wee bit, how's the recoil with your S&W 10mm? Have been toying with thoughts of getting one.

My 10mm XDM has run numerous brands of ammo through it without issue from cheap range stuff to more expensive self defense. I've even ran the super light 60gr Liberty Civil Defense rounds without any problems. I'm convinced that I could load the mag with a handful of gravel and it will shoot.

I have Holosun 407k-gr on 2 10mm pistols and both have lasted thru a couple thousand rounds. I don't shoot wimpy loads either.

having an xdm 5.25" and s/w 10mil 2.0, i use numerous brands and weights of ammo and neither have been picky. just don't use monarch lacquer finished ammo. as far as non-coated monarch you should be fine as the lacquer was the cause of many malfunctions! optic wise on a s/w m/p, don't use a leupold dpp as it won't fit with any optic plate. doesn't fit on any 1.0 or 2.0 i have (to long). i do need to check my statement about that when i get a chance as there's 1 optic that won't fit. i have vortex on most of my semi-autos from 9mm, 357sig, 40s/w, 10mm & 45acp. ammo i shoot are not mediocre low pressure per cartridge rounds, so no mrds has failed me yet. my 10's have run pressure up to case separation then backed off load.

Not to bad when you get used to it. Personally I wish I did a little more research on the M&P 2.0 10MM before getting. I do keep it because it’s getting better with age.
IF, sa used the same geometry in the Elite as they did on the precision model you'll be gtg.

But then again smith, Springfield and other companies go thru issues it seems? I've been fortunate NOT to deal with any. My 2 10mils haven't had any issues or made any optics fail. The only problem (if you can call it that) doesn't let me mount a dpp because of the plate. On my m2 45acp it's the same issue.

Holosun makes a direct mount optic for S&W guns now it's the SCS Series.
I have the SCS-MP2-GR on my M&P2.0 Compact. It's worked great so far, it's constant on and solar. Only thing I didn't like, it's constant on, (it does have a really small on/off switch) and you can't replace the battery when it dies.
