Review: 1911 DS Prodigy Comp 9mm

I have one of these and I must say I'm 100 percent happy with function of it . 500 rounds without a failure .
The slide to frame fit is tight and smooth . Same for the barrel fit to the slide . Very smooth and solid lock up . The trigger has a short take up , then a solid wall , then around 3-4 pounds a crisp release . Super accurate and almost automatic return to zero . I'm very impressed and very satisfied with my purchase .
I can say that springfield hit it out of the park on this pistol .

Does anyone know where in the h*ll you can find the 10-round mags for this? They appear to be sold out EVERYWHERE online. (SKU is PH6910).

I bought mine online (the 10+1 low capacity version was not yet out, so I bought the stock version that comes with the 17 and 20 round mags). The dealer discounted it a bit by holding back the mags that come with it since I can't own anything more than a 15-rounder (Thanks, Illinois).

I figured OK, this won't be hard to find the IL compliant DS mags - WRONG. Now I'm sitting here with a pistol that has no mags! I've never had a problem finding LC mags for any other gun, but this one apparently is a unicorn.

I believe STI/Staccato mags are compatible. May give you some more options.

I just looked at a couple of places. There are a couple of Stacatto options for 10 round mags (120mm and 126mm - not sure which one is correct for the Prodigy DS) but both of them are also sold out!

They do have some 15 round ones (which are still legal for me) in 120mm and 126mm also, that are in-stock, but since that's not a "standard" number of rounds for the Prodigy mags, would those still work?

Thanks for the welcomes

I definitely could be wrong but it appears the coyote brown prodigy the barrel is coated with DLC rather than just being a stainless bull barrel like on the black prodigy. So my guess would be they are either going to switch it to a stainless barrel (which would suck as I like the DLC barrel), they cut the comp hole after the coating, or they just won't release a coyote brown version.
