Review: Crossbreed Supertuck

I like them. I have several different Crossbreed models & all are comfortable. The only one I have problems with, is the model with only one belt clip. It‘s difficult to keep it in place when re-holstering , etc.
 
I have both my Shields in CB Mini Tucks. I like them a lot better than the Super Tuck.

Carrying a full size pistol IWB isn't going to be comfortable regardless of what holster it's in.

The reviewer said something about the leather creasing and folding over. I don't even see how that is possible.

Here's a little FYI. I've bought both of mine directly from the Crossbreed website. The price has increased about $10-$15 since I got my first one. I think the Mini Tuck is about $75 now directly from Crossbreed. It's going to take them a week or two to get it to you too. Conversely, a co-worker of mine bought his off Amazon.com. He paid $60 for it and it arrived at his house 2 days later.

Here's another FYI. When I got my second Shield ( an M 2.0 .45) the texture of the grip was a lot more aggressive. I noticed pretty quickly that while wearing it in a Mini Tuck the grip rubbing against my skin was pretty irritating. With the first one I ordered the " Combat Cut", which means the extra leather that would be under the grip isn't there. This is one less thing between your thumb and your gun when drawing. By the time I ordered number two the Mini Tucks were only available in combat cut. So I started wearing wife beaters tucked in to my drawers with the holster on top of that and a t-shirt over the top. I do this now with all of them, not just the M 2.0 and it's a heck of a lot more comfortable. I would do this with ANY IWB holster. In fact I wear a wife beater under my shirt even when I'm not carrying but....

Every single IWB holster I tried with the single clip turned out to be a pain in the ***. They move around a lot and half the time the holster comes out with the gun.

My number one EDC ( for work) is a Shield PC .40 and it's been in a Mini Tuck since day one. My working conditions are 100% outdoors in St. Louis weather. Extreme hot and extreme cold. I spend a lot of time in holes hand digging with a shovel, jumping in and out of my tractor ( mini excavator) and general underground construction work. The holster broke in nicely and quickly and after 2 years it's still in fantastic shape and is contoured perfectly to my body at the roughly the 4:00 position. The leather is soft but still rigid and the kydex is in perfect shape. This one is black leather and black kydex. The one on my .45 is tan horsehide ( $5 upgrade) and OD Green Kydex. The horsehide is a bit softer.

Alien Gear makes a very similar holster. I've never worn one but I know a couple guys that have them and I have handled them briefly. To me they look and feel a bit cheaper. Particularly the clips. Now back when I got my first CB, the Alien Gear was about $20 cheaper and might have been a consideration for someone who was on a tighter budget. These days the Alien Gear is up around $55-$60 too though.

Despite what the article sayd, the Supertuck can be worn AIWB. That is my preferred position and the Supertuck works well there for me. I looked at Crossbreeds specific AIWB holster, but having only one clip looked like a drawback, and sure enough, the article mentions that. The Reckoning may be the answer as it looks like it fits between the two. I have considered ordering one, but so far haven't.

I have a Crossbreed Supertuck in horse hide, and a Snapslide In black cow hide, both for the XDM. While my XDM 5.25 fits, for IWB I carry my XDM 3.8 Compact. I find it very comfortable to carry the XDM Compact IWB with the Supertuck. I usually carry between 3 and 5 o’clock. If I need a mag carrier I’ve got a Crossbreed belt mount mag carrier for my left hip.
