RIA 5.0E: Competition Ready

Got to check one of these out this morning at a LGS. The first one I've seen locally.

Felt really good in the had considering it's a 17-rd. double-stack, very smooth slide movement, and an excellent trigger.

But spendy = $1,650

Got to check out a STK-100 there also. Not as nice but at a much lower price point.

I dont usually like roundy types of slides but that is pretty neat looking. It sort of looks like a Robocop gun. For 1650 I would buy another Legion, at least right now...

Actually maybe that is just what I told my wife it cost, honestly I dont remember... I put a Ronin EPS Carry GR on it so that bumped it up near there.

I'd say it's would never buy another 1911, but the RIA 10mm hc keeps calling me

I know that there a lot of RIA fans on this forum, but at nearly $2K there are so many proven high end pistols out there that get my attention. For a grand I’d be much more inclined take a stab at the 5.0.

I kinda like the looks but, man, that's pretty spendy. I'm not that good of a shooter, or a competitor, so I'd never really consider anything like that. Although, it would be interesting too see which competitors adopt this platform. Is there a website that tracks various competitions and the firearms being used?

I still windowshop various RIA 1911s. I'd like one in 9mm for my little collection.

How about that? A "profound glimpse into the obvious" and an "off track" in the same response.
