RXM: Ruger/Magpul Collaboration Pistol

I always wish firearms companies success but at the same time…..personally….YAWN!!!!!!

And how’s the class go last night Barry? I had some house stuff going so I couldn’t be there.
Went well. This class usually has the same people every year, but lots of new faces this time. I was wondering how that would work out, but we flew through the material. Good bunch.

I swear that new guns are designed by a committee of engineers, lawyers and bean counters that couldn't pick out Michelangelo's David from a pile of rocks. Spray painting the damn thing, hello kitty pink or tactacool desert tan don't cut it. But, hay, if it lifts your skirt have at it.
Don't talk about my Reflex like that... They (FN) worked hard to make something that looked like a 43x had a fling with a drunken Hellcat, and that their unholy union resulted in something hammer fired.

Just watched a couple of RXM reviews. Folks are already gushing about it and I'm sure the usual suspects will all have videos out soon. I'm a Ruger fan. Our first pistol when my wife and I jumped into firearms was a Ruger 9e (my wife still shoots that gun better than anything else we've acquired since). But I agree with the general consensus here: The new RXM is actually kinda ugly. The old 9e has far more good looks (and has been as reliable as a Timex), so... I'll pass (n)

I was blissfully ignorant of this new striker-fired offering until five minutes ago. An LGS has a free shoot event this weekend. I'd very much like to participate, but cannot. Any interest herein?

I agree. The the SR series were good, which they were still produced.

Soooo... Instead of ripping off Kel-Tec they went right in and said, "it's not a Glock, but you can use Glock sights and mags, and it looks like a Glock. But it's not a Glock in the way the LCP isn't a 3AT." I guess with S&W taking up everything else that Kel-Tec puts out (KSG, S2K, PMR30...) Glock just made sense. I mean they could have put out a Hi-Power clone, but then they wouldn't have MagPul on board:unsure:

So Ruger took the easy route with a Gen 3 Glock build? I'm not faulting them, unless it's teal, then it's full fault. I like Ruger; in general. I just really dislike the way they burn through models. Right now they have the American, Security-9 and RXM. This is in addition to an LCP, an LCP II, an EC9s, a 1911. Well now you can pair your RXM with your PCC as long as you install the Glock magwell adapter. So there is that as a selling point😬

Also, I just looked at Smith's website and, like Ruger, have just as many models that appear to be different flavors of the same thing. SD9/40, M&P, Bodyguard, Equalizer, CSX, Shield, 1911....😵‍💫

Just looking at that 9e picture, I'm thinking Ruger could put front serrations on it, a better picatinny rail, optics cut the slide, improve the grip texture/coverage, upgrade the trigger and sights, and they'd have the equal of most polymer 9mm guns today. They could call it the SR-9X to make it edgy.

I love the Ruger Mark series 22LR pistols, but back in the 1980's, when I had an FFL, and I bought the first 9mm, P85 and it was very, very bad. I have not revisited that one since. There are so many really good 9mm pistols out there it makes no sense to even try this one again.
