Ryobi or Milwaukee

Deff Ryobi, the 18 volt series fits all past & present. I just upgraded to new batteries this year. I always date them, they were 8 years old. Didn't hold a charge for very long. Also took advantage of deal offered. 1 drill 1 driver & 2 batteries, $ 69.00 .local pawn shop has Ryobi table saw I don't know if it's 18 or 40 volts? It's neon green

Ryobi fan here. My favorite color is Ryobi green. Have some old blue drills that still work, and have never had an issue with any of the newer stuff. I only have 18 volt stuff currently.
I have the small chain saw, that thing is amazing. Punches way above it's weight class. And with the deals you can get around Ryobi days, you can't beat them. Also, if you live near an outlet mall, they have stores that sell new and reconditioned products for some really good prices

My first cordless drill about 30 years ago was a DeWalt. They just didn't have much power back then. My SIL has a new 20v DeWalt and it has muscle. Now they make cordless everything.

I had some Rigid cordless tools years ago and then they discontinued the batteries for that line so I ended up with a pile of useless junk. I swore to never buy another Rigid tool after that fiasco.

Now I am invested in a full array of German engineered Bosch cordless tools, with a big pile of 18v batteries and chargers. I have built several buildings and metal roofs and many woodworking projects with them. They are durable, lightweight, give me great service. I like Milwaukee tools but changing brands would mean buying all new batteries and I am not going down that road at this point.

If I were to change brands it would be Festool made in Germany. I have some of their corded woodworking tools and the quality is superb. But really pricey.

Here is another cool thing they offer with tools .

I have Dewalt and Milwaukee. Don’t own any Ryobi. Not saying they are not good. I just don’t own any.
I’ll pass on letting random third party people have my GPS info.

Mine was one of those big Makita 14 volts with the real long batteries. Those things would twist your arm off. And they’re bulletproof. I still have one. Can’t get batteries for it.

As an aside, out of curiosity, does anyone know if any liberals who own power tools? Or even a hammer?
Until recently my brother in law (who came out of a fine Republican family but had become a pretty liberal Democrat) owned a lot of tools as he became a kitchen and bathroom remodeler after retiring as a high school shop teacher is now retired. I was envious of all of his shop tools.

Of course his clientele were almost all limousine liberals and the average cost of him doing a bathroom for them was around $80,000 ten years ago.

Every family has one

Hi,

FWIW, all my lawn care machines, mower, string trimmer, leaf blower, chainsaw, are cordless Ryobi. They are not "professional" but get the job done for my moderate needs. My corded hand tools are mostly B&D but they don't see heavy use either. It's good to be retired. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I worry about real guns decorated like that being mistaken for toys. My 9 y.o. grandson has toy guns that look a lot like that.
I know what you mean, but that’s where a responsible gun owner secures his firearms so the young ones don’t have access to them, what gets me is todays toy guns mimic real guns except for the orange thing in barrel.
