S&W Bodyguard 2.0

Well took the gun apart and found a problem. If you look at picture the part of the recoil spring that sits up against the barrel is bent. Have never seen this before. To their credit I called Smith&Wesson and they will be sending out a new recoil spring today. Now that it is all clean will try to get to gravel pit tomorrow to see if it will work.View attachment 66665
That happens when the recoil spring is installed incorrectly after breaking the gun down and cleaning it. In the owner's manual there's a NOTE to this effect: "Recoil spring assembly is designed to be oriented in a specific manner. When installing the recoil spring assembly, align the base of the spring assembly against the barrel lug with rounded portions of the spring rod at the top and bottom and 'flats' on each side".
If installed incorrectly, the spring will go in appearing to be fine and the slide will assemble with little or no problem, but then the slide will only come back off with a lot of difficulty and more often than not cause the damage shown here. Very possible some player at the LGS did exactly that then forced the issue to get it back together. Yeh, unfortunately I learned about this with my new "Equalizer 9" before I read the manual ............................ Glad to hear S&W is making things right for you. All this is assuming of course the BG 2.0 and the Equalizer 9 use the same design. I know the E9 recoil spring is a single full length spring whereas the BG 2.0 apparently uses a 2 piece spring ... but the spring rod end is the same.

10mm - which ones and any pics?
Nothing special just a couple Heritage revolvers and one NAA revolver. I have a ton of semiauto pistols.

This gun came directly from Kentucky Gun Company to my FFL. He did not break it down. I believe it was done at the factory.

Took the Bodyguard to the gravel pit this morning to fire 200 rounds of mixed hardball and self defense rounds. For self defense I used Winchester Silver tips. Happy to report all is well. It took all 200 rounds without any stoppages. The texture on the gun was perfect and the sights worked as advertised. To me it's a soft shooter but that may be subjective. All in all not a bad little gun. Will put another 100 rounds of Silvertips thru it very soon and call it a keeper and reliable for concealed carry.
