I heard on Gun Talk and other sites that S&W would be announcing a new firearm that currently hasn't been in their catalog of firearms in their long history. January 22 is the day before the start of Shot Show 2024, and I'm guessing this could be hinting at a Lever Action rifle. It appears they may have made Lever Action firearms some time ago, but nothing recent that I can remember.

In email, it's a guy dressed up like a cowboy.

Actually, S&W started out with a lever action. Before the S&W company came to be, Daniel & Horace started out making guns with the Volcanic Repeating Pistol. It was a lever action handgun. It didn't do so well, but it did get 'em started. ;)
I'm gonna wait and see what the new gun is. But whatever it is, you can bet that quality will be spotty and the price will be outrageous.

did S&W (or any other gun companies) ever have a 45 Colt LC rifle..????
45 Colt rifles weren’t really introduced until like the 1970’s something about Colt wouldn’t allow rifle companies to use that chambering. Which supposedly the rim on the 45 Colt brass wasn’t as large as everything else and in 1889’s would have cause issues in rifles if the period. Why 44-40 was so popular
