No, most older S&W revolvers came with a aluminum cleaning rod, brass brush, cotton mop and either the screw driver or a flat blued two ended type screwdriverHoly crap. Was it sold specifically with a certain revolver ?

Bassbob this is the way S & W shipped their revolvers in the 70s and 80s. I don't know what they ship with their revolvers today since I don't buy new revolvers, only the older ones!Holy crap. Was it sold specifically with a certain revolver ?
You get the gun, manual, warranty card, join the NRA card and the stupid gun lock, plus the keys for the lock in the gun, never did understand why they give you a gun lock when the revolver has one anyway…….Bassbob this is the way S & W shipped their revolvers in the 70s and 80s. Those internal locks are ugly and I would never carry a revolver that has it.You get the gun, manual, warranty card, join the NRA card and the stupid gun lock, plus the keys for the lock in the gun, never did understand why they give you a gun lock when the revolver has one anyway…….
My S&W 610 has one, but my Taurus Raging Hunter doesn’t have the one they used to do on the hammer years backThose internal locks are ugly and I would never carry a revolver that has it.
Sorry to hear HansSo…
Not gonna happen. Couldn’t meet on a price.
There’ll be others…Sorry to hear Hans
I was just looking at a used 629-6 6.5" a couple if hours ago at my LGS and thought I'd think it over for a day or so and found this thread. Those internal locks are ugly and I would never carry a revolver that has it.

So I'm curious, what is the problem with the internal lock? Are there any mechanical problems with it?
Thanks. It can go back on the thinking about it pile then. Some people have had them lock up on their own under recoil.
Usually, this is a rare issue with lightweight magnums…I know I’ve never had any of mine lock, up including a .500 firing hot loads.
The lock is very easily removed, and plugs are available to fil the hole.
Yea, that 629 I had tried to do it with real heavy full power loads, can be very annoyingSome people have had them lock up on their own under recoil.

I've never fired a .44 mag and have no misgivings that it'll kick like none I've ever fired. And we don't have grizzlies in western PA. So I have no real reason to buy it except that I can, if I want to. I only have semi-autos so it would be my 1st revolver if I buy it.Yea, that 629 I had tried to do it with real heavy full power loads, can be very annoying
I picked up this Taurus Raging Hunter in .44mag a while back, the porting helps the recoil and the weight also helpsI've never fired a .44 mag and have no misgivings that it'll kick like none I've ever fired.
