SA M1A 4th Gen Scope Mount

I'm looking to get a M1A Loaded Precision. Of course I'll need a higher power scope for long distance, but would like to be able to still utilize the iron sights for something up close if needed. Will the SA 4th gen scope mount allow using the iron sights even with a scope mounted? Thanks!

I do not know, but welcome to the forum.
I’m sure someone here will be able to help.
Post a pic of your setup when it’s done.

It's tough enough getting a decent cheek weld when using optics on an M1A/M-14 since the platform is not optics-friendly without trade-offs.

Best to use a much better optics mount than the SA 4th gen mount, like one of the Sadlak/Brookfield/Smith Enterprises-style mounts, or the ARMS #18 which is the lowest, then use QR (quick-release) rings for the optic to take it off when you want to use the irons.

The The Sadlak and ARMS #18 mounts have channels built into them that allow for the use of irons when the optic is taken off.

My .02
