safe inside temps best practices

my new golden rod arrived yesterday
before , i had a mini dehumidifier in there that used an alum plate to capture moisture and drain it into a catch can
and it also kept the safe right at 72 to 73 F

it died, so i put in a golden rod, so no more catch can etc
i checked it this morning and safe inside temps were 77F near the rod and 72 at bottom of safe
pistols hanging above rod were at 74F

ammo down low was 72

77 felt warm to me, but i guess its okie dokie

Shouldn’t be a problem. I ran a golden rod in a safe for decades with no issues.

its funny, as i never really paid much attention to the temps in the safe until last year
its in a 55 or lower humidity room, that runs 65 to 74 f year round
but my desiccant bags kept going from blue to pink in a few weeks so i started really watching it
and i moved a good bit of factory ammunition to the safe to keep it more secure
i really need a second one just for the ammunition to be honest

Golden rod should be on the bottom/floor of the safe to provide the most uniform temp throughout.

no room to mount it horizontal at the lower areas, without a huge re-arrangement of gear
did i mention the safe is full, i need a bigger one,
i got it at the lowest point now which is about 2 inches above the top of the lower support for the barrels
