Due too dot size or other reasons?

That sounds like the issue.

Get a good red dot, and that doesn’t happen...

I like Aimpoints, myself. Their PRO model is a solid piece of kit for a very reasonable price...my “social work” AR wears a CompM4.

Any recommendations then on scopes? I think that’s the route I want to go. Don’t want to spend more like like 2-300 tho

If you’re just talking a straight red dot, I would look at a Holosun, 403 or 503...

If you are going the scope route I would recommend something like the primary arms 1x6 with the acss reticle.

I have the vortex strikefire 2 that killerford has on his AR above and I really like it. It comes with the mount that is shown and works very well.

I’d add the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6, as well as the PA ACSS.

Would I have to purchase a separate mount to achieve lower 1/3 no matter what I buy? Or do they all come with standard with mounts for absolute correctness?

I think the vortex strikefire 2 mount is a lower 1/3 co-witness. It is, just double-checked it.

I am not sure they make a scope mount that is lower 1/3. I could be wrong though. Someone save me.

The 1st red dot I had was an Aimpoint on a 44mag revolver! About '85 or '86 when mounted and it worked great!

Isn't that when the dot was as big as the entire device?

Looks great, have you shot with your BUIS and your red dot yet, made sure everything is co-witness? I saw you had back up sights and, with that being good in case something was to go wrong with your optic it’s good to make sure your irons and optic is sighted in. I love the iron sights that Springfield is using. My Saint Edge .223 and Victor .308 have awesome sights that I use cowitness on the .223 and offset on the .308 that has a 1x8 scope on it. I couldn’t ask for more. Don’t need more.

That’s sounds like a great set-up. I run a 1-6 on one of mine. I agree, don’t think there is anything else you could need??

Bipod. That’s all you really need. I think more stuff is useless for me. Keep it simple, muscle memory, etc.

I have a bipod on one of my rifles. I have that one set up more for long range though.

Wow that’s pretty informative. I have shot using the red dot only and I’m very happy with it. I zeroed it at 50yards and then went to 100 with no problem.

I definitely plan on getting a bipod. Especially since I go to the range about once a week and want to start shooting a little further. More 100-200 yard shots
