Saint Pistol 7.5" Jamming Issues

Has anyone else had any issues with their 7.5" pistol jamming? Literally the 1st round I put through it locked up the bolt, the round stuck in the chamber? I have tried this with 3 different types of ammo, and run the 3 other types of each lot that was jamming through my other AR and it ran perfectly, so this is definitely not an ammo issue, this is a gun issue. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this, and is this something that I can send the AR Pistol back to Springfield for a re-work. I did find a video on YouTube from Honest Outlaw and he was having the exact same issue, but he did not provide a remedy of what he did. Hoping for some help.

Thank You

I have one and have never experienced this. I've run several types of ammo through mine including steel case and it has run flawlessly. I'd give SA a call about a re-work. Brand new gun shouldn't be doing this.

There some very good videos on here about clearing and greasing the gun.

Re: steel case ammo. I have a Saint in .308, and normally only run brass. Have you noticed any "extra" wear and tear on yours? I know that I'll lose some pressure with the steel, and apparently all Russian ammo is dirty, but I clean my rifle a lot. It will give me something to do. I just don't want to put too much wear and tear on it, but right now, the ammo I like is selling for WAY too much.

I have shot a lot of steel case ammo out of mine and it runs fine. I clean it every 2 or 3 times I shoot it. Something isn’t right and you should have a smith check it or send it back to SA for them to check it.

Nothing is wrong with the rifle. I was just wondering about steel case ammo and affects it may have. I've heard "I would never run steel" all the way to "Steel wont hurt a thing"... I trust the info I get on here more than other sources.

Sorry, didn’t mean to imply something was wrong with your rifle. Was more making the point to the OP that my pistol has run fine with everything I’ve run through it, including steel ammo.

Thats quite alright. You've told me enough that I will buy a few boxes. I really want them more because they are inexpensive, and can have them should the need arise..Im pretty partial to one factory round (Federal Gold Match 168g HPBT) , but right now they are $69.99.... There's a good chance I would be single again if I purchaed those. Thanks for the info

I’m no gun guru as some on here are. But from what I’ve read and watched some videos on, steel case run a little dirtier and may eventually cause excessive wear on the firearm. But that is after many thousands of rounds have been fired. I don’t know about you, but I don’t shoot enough where I’m worried about it. Especially now with the ammo shortage. If I go out and shoot 50 rounds, I’m out looking for new ammo to replace it. Lol. The steel rounds cycle fine through my Saint Victor pistol. Personally, I’m not worried about too much wear at this point.

Only fired mine twice, both times a live round jammed in chamber. Paid a gun smith to take it apart so I could send it in to Springfield both times. First repair was a BCG. Second time they said nothing wrong and sent it back to me. So I bought a Palmetto State upper to put on it, I don’t trust the Springfield upper anymore.

Try a different magazine and try a different ammo. Even if another gun likes the ammo does not mean this machine will also like it. Trying two different items is easy and could save you from having to ship back.

Ive tried 3 different types of ammo out of 3 different types of Mags. Same thing every time. Even after disassembly and cleaning.

Thank you for all the input back. I disassembled the pistol completely and cleaned and oiled it. Still will not function. Called Springfield and they said something is definitely wrong. They were very good about it and sent me pre-paid mailing label to send it back for inspection and re-work. Can complain that the gun didn't work, but can't complain about that kind of 'no questions asked, we will take it back' customer service.

Interesting. Exact same issue that I was having.

Yep. Sir would you let me know with your outcome? Thank you.
And I tired everything to get the round out, I beat on the extractor handle and the forward assist with a hammer, the range instructor and myself could not get the round out, on either time.
