Does anybody know what style of barrel the SV 308 has? Is it a pencil barrel?

From what I understand all their rifles are made in-house, minus the new Hellion???
The 1911's and their variants are all made here.
The Polymer striker-fired handguns are made in Croatia.

LR308 only referred to the upper style if I’m not mistaken, not the barrel.
Or am I incorrect here ..?

More the lower. AR10 and LR308 use different magazines.

My two savage AR’s .308 and 6.5 creedmore were considered LR .308 shorter upper/lower and shorter BCG. This of course is what I found out researching my issues with those two rifles.

Not sure about those mags but I remember the LR designation on the mags (MagPul) I had to buy for those two rifles, they were hard to find at that time.

My .308 Saint Victor has been the bomb.
Every firearm has its quirks, but my Victor has been a warhorse. Its had 2500 rounds of .308 thru it since it came out. I bought it in May of 2019. First week on the market.
My top choice on hog patrol.

I prefer scoped for .308 rifles.So do most of you who own the SV shoot with scoped sights, “dot type” sights or open sights? I have been wondering if a little more magazine capacity would be a good move.
And what is a pencil barrel? I guess I have been out in the woods too long.
The .308 has good range to it ballistically.
A nice low powered optic or straight optic is my preference. I used a red dot and found it to be lacking with my eyes for 100 yards +.
I use a mix of 1x6, 1x8 and 3x9(trad deer scope style) on my various .308 platforms.
If plinking, or targets, I would suggest a 1x6 / 1x8.
If hunting, / target maybe a more traditional scope style for game animals that my be further out. Say a deer on the far side of a 200yrd pasture.
