Saint Victor Pistol

You’re citing an article from 2017. Here’s one from 2022 that details the whole timeline and as of 2022 the situation is:

Legally speaking, you can shoulder an AR pistol fitted with a stabilizing brace. However, the specific wording uses the terms “incidental, sporadic, or situational use.” The ATF’s interpretation is that you’re legally allowed to do so. But they discourage the practice, suggesting that you should not show it off or encourage others to do so.

Thanks!!!
The answer to your question GaryLy is based on your local laws. Some order shipments are pre-screened so not to be implicated as the initial source of any liability.

One thing for sure is that for now, nothing gets shipped from Distributors without some scrutiny especially as always to Restricted jurisdictions. So if it’s not CA Compliant it doesn’t ship to CA. In Cook Co IL so far as I know, it’s legal to ship (FFL) and own, but illegal to Possess within the city/county boundary.

Your FFL will question and maybe remind you on some of the local restrictions that may affect that transfer, Distributor/Retailers may flat out refuse to ship to certain areas and some will defer to the Buyer/Customer that they must be aware of their local laws and attempt to leave the onus on the Buyer/FFL. Don’t expect this trust to last much longer. So being wary of later ATF scrutiny and wrath will be on everyone’s mind these days.

New ATF rules will be checking the logs on a more regular or frequent basis can be expected, so I see tightened restrictions if the Distributors, Retailers, and FFL’s don’t want hefty fines, lose credentials and maybe even prosecution. I expect nothing will shipped if there are any legality doubts exist and then there’s transportation carrier refusals coming about.
Thanks!!!
