Saints Edge Accuracy Question

Hey all, I'm starting to realize that no matter what ammo brand or size of ammo I shoot out of my Saints Edge it's a 3 inch grouping gun at 100 yds. 2 bullets touch then 2 fly off with no pattern. Help. I've shot from 55 grain to 75 grain and all kinds of types. I also shoot enough guns when I'm at the range to know its not me. Does anyone have any suggestions before I order another barrel? thanks, Tyler

If you order another barrel from a different manufacturer, make sure it's compatible with the SA Edge.

There is no standard spec for AR-10-type rifles so some components may be proprietary.

The only thing I have left to check is the crown. The muzzle break is clean, but my next step is a new barrel. I hope that fixes it.

If an admin can delete this thread I'd be all for it. I was hoping this would be a common thing and shooting a 62 grain bullet is the magic fix or something similar. I'm going to shoot it against 2 other similar guns compare groups and decide then if I keep it or sell it. It'll be replaced with another Springfield though, pretty guns.

Scope or irons?
How many rounds through the rifle?
When I owned a SA Edge pistol it took about 300 rounds before groups tightened up.
Check to make sure your hand guard didn’t loosen up, mine did and tight groups vanished until I tightened the screws.

Mine has been pretty much dead on but I didn't buy it for a precision rifle. Its a combat rifle and as long as it hits the target its good to me. A 2 inch spread doesn't sound that bad to me. But what do I know, after shooting uncle sam's rifles for 23 years i'm not that fussy.

Have you confirmed the inaccuracy from a vice on a bench? It could be that the rifle just doesn't fit you (physically or psychologically...Some folks here talk about going to the range with a partner and swapping guns...one guy loves it, the other hates it and can't hit the broad side of a barn). Gotta take the shooter out of the equation to gauge any firearm's true accuracy.

Just curious if you checked the Accu-tite screw adjustment? If you know you shoot better than that I would think It sounds like something is loose and moving on you, the handguard, handgrip, butt stock, barrel, etc. As others said above, have someone else shoot it or use a bench rest, etc. Something will rare it's ugly head.

As I've gotten a little older here (almost 67) I've picked up a little wobble so long range shooting won't be my retirement hobby. Good luck.
