Scopes! What you may or may not know!

I’ve never made fun of anyone (well, I’ve chided friends who knew better, and could afford better) who have gotten cheap gear; but I’ve explained to people at the range who were frustrated at their inability to get a group out of a rifle that the problem isn’t the rifle—it’s the $60 Barska scope in the $20 NCStar rings on that .30-06...

There’s inexpensive, but good enough...but there’s also cheap crap, too.

Crap is crap, no argument.

I was just trying to give an example from my own hard-won experience.
Another way of explaining it is: We all stumble in the darkness for some time.
Some of us never find the way to the light.
Some of us require gentile guidance.
Other, like me, need to bash their heads repeatedly against the wall and ignore all offers of help.

That's why I try so hard to pass my merger knowledge along...freely and without judgement.
