Scratching an itch…(aka : ‘’Ello, Guv’nor…”)

So…I’ve been kinda hankering for one of these for a while.

First off, I really like .410’s…Winchester 42’s, Mossberg Shockwaves, H&R Toppers, T/C Contender .45/.410’s, Mossberg bolt actions…Have ‘em. So much fun to shoot.

I’ve never bit on a Judge, though. First off—Taurus. Sure, I’m certain YOU have a Taurii product that’s always been reliable, dead nuts accurate, etc, etc…that’s not been my firsthand experience with The Bull; 0 for 2 for me, and I’m not gonna try again unless it’s stupid cheap.

Second…S&W’s Governor just makes more sense. Can also shoot .45acp as well as .410 and .45C, 6 shots vs 5….S&W vs Taurus…say no more, squire; say no more.

So I ran across a Governor today, for a price that was pretty decent, considering. Perhaps it was the couple of beers for lunch, or the fact that I’ve been up for 24 hours, but…I couldn’t resist.

It’s not exactly what I wanted; gonna replace the black front blade with either a XS Big Dot or FO sight, and I would’ve preferred the 4” barrel over the3”…but, it’ll do. The Bride already said she wants to shoot it…might replace her old chopped Victory Model .38 as her nightstand gun…then I can get a 4”.

Range trip tomorrow, maybe?

Cool pickup. My first hunting gun was a 410 Savage and akways been interested in 410s, had a number over the years. Always Been curious about the revolvers.

As to your comment on Taurus revolvers we have had a number over the years. I have a 6 inch 66 and my wife has a 4 inch. Both very early 80 models. Both very accurate and reliable. So good in fact that I bought 2 22 models in the 90s. Both were crap with cylinder bind and timing issues real bad. Then I bought a 380 revolver in 2019 the one similar in size to the old Smith Terrier. It has been utterly reliable. So, spotty at best. The 90s were terrible from what I understand

Bought one several years ago. Your wife will love shooting .410 rounds because of the wide range of loads she can pick from Anything from a slug down to # 6's would be great defense loads. The 3" is more concealable, but I don't know how many owners carry them as a sidearm because that are a little bulky. Let us know how it works for you guys.

Nice little pistol. I do have a Taurus revolver which I love dearly, but I am no fan boy and would never pick a Taurus over a Smith or Ruger revolver. And you couldn't give me a Taurus auto.

410 is a Unicorn here. everything else shotgun related is fairly easy to find. 45 LC is almost non existent as well.
