Senate Democrats Introduce Legislation to Ban High-Capacity Magazines

But this will never go anywhere

Never is an awful long time.

Trump has got the Left so stirred up right now that I will be absolutely amazed if there is not a Blue Wave come midterms.

There's also quite a few wolves in Republican's clothing in the House and Senate.

Not mentioning any names.

And I definitely don't trust Trump to protect my Second Amendment Rights.

Especially given he' s term limited and got nothing to lose at this point

“For Second Amendment activists, such magazine capacity limits infringe on the right to bear arms. Pro-gun organizations such as the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) argue that magazines holding over 10 rounds are in “common use,” thereby safeguarded by the Second Amendment. Per an NSSF study published last year, roughly 717 million magazines of this nature are in circulation across the country.”

I live in a free state. I don’t even own a long gun and I think the only handguns I have with 10 rounds or less magazines is my G27 and a couple of 1911s. Even my Hellcat starts at 11 …

Let one of those individuals get into a fire fight and only have 10 shots and no reload. They’ll change their toon on limited magazine capacity
Those individuals don't own or want guns. They hate and want to defund law enforcement, but at the same time, only trust and expect law enforcement to be the ones who owns guns. I think those people would double down on mag limits for law abiding citizens if they were attacked by career criminals who weren't allowed to own any gun or ammo.

Republicans continue to do nothing to legislate the lefts attack on the 2A.
Same ol song and dance from our Republicans in office not even pushimg back on the left
We keep voting for them and not holding them accountable. Heck, even if I say anything about Trump being antigun or not doing anything for gun rights, an angry pitchforks in lanterns carrying internet mob will attack me and accuse me of being liberal. They do nothing because they know we'll do nothing. Plus, most of them are Ivy League, silver spoon, bureaucrats who always lived in nice neighborhoods. They don't care about firearms or gun rights beyond lip service. The rare few that do own and use guns are older FUDDS like Dick Cheney who basically hunt and the like.

I'm not seeing a Senate bill by Kaine titled "The Keep Americans Safe Act"
One of the links in the article goes to a 2023 article https://homelandprepnews.com/stories/79815-democratic-lawmakers-reintroduce-keep-americans-safe-act/

There is however a "The Keep Americans Safe Act." in the house. Introduced in House (02/27/2025)
Limits magazines to 15 rounds. except tubular 22 rimfire.

Magazines of higher capacity made after the date it goes into effect must have a serial number and date of manufacture engraved or cast onto it. And allows a non-elected bureaucrat to make other identification requirements.

"and such other identification as the Attorney General shall by regulations prescribe."

H. R. 1674

Will likely not make it out of committee, if it does, not to the floor. We can hope.

We keep voting for them because the alternative is exponentially worse. And even if they (politicians) did care about firearms rights and 2A, most politicians know it will likely take some of the “enemy” votes to get elected, especially in this almost split down the middle electorate. So they don’t want to completely alienate Democratic Party voters.

I am of a mind that, behind closed doors, politicians of all ilk conspire to stay in power. Therefore, they NEED wedge issues to keep the electorate at each others’ throats and distracted from what’s really going on.

Rinse and repeat with a new HR number and year

My question is who are “they” that came up with the number 10 as being acceptable rounds and anything else is a high cap????

I mean if a Glock 19 mag sits flush and holds 15 all here probably agree that’s a “standard” magazine!!!

Yes, but at the end of the day, we the people keep putting them back in office. We complain about "RINOs" ad nauseam, but then keep electing the same exact people over and over again for decades. I can't be mad at politicians for doing whatever it takes to stay in power. I don't blame them. I'm more so made at the people who keep them in power.

I keep hearing people complain about the problem and point fingers at the representation they chose. We all keep blaming them and saying that they need to change. Why would they change if model has worked so well for them? If we want change we have to change. We can't keep doing the same thing, voting for the same people, and then expect things to be different.

And the answer would be? For sure, the answer is not to stop voting. If you really want to lose all your gun rights, let the Democrats and the Far Left gain control of everything.

And in voting, there are only 2 choices, Republicans or Democrats. I did throw away a vote once in 1992 (Ross Perot - Independent), I’m sure a lot of others did too…resulting in a Clinton win.

Ideally the chosen representation is paying attention to those pointed fingers. Although, it is probably very, very hard to win any election with a one item platform (2A).
