I believe Biden received 5 draft deferments, 4 for school and one for asthma... Trump also had 5 deferments, 4 for school and one for bone spurs... Clinton had three deferments, all for school... and on and on. It was pretty 'normal' for kids in wealthy families no matter if we like it or not.

Just because he spent 24 years in the guard that doesn’t give him a pass for dropping out right before his unit was deployed or lying about his rank in his subsequent political campaigns. Nor does it give him a pass for his actions as governor. Including shuttling 250 million taxpayer dollars into the hands of Somalis in a Covid payout scam, literally creating a snitch line for people to rat out their neighbors for not following Covid lockdown protocols, conspiring with his daughter to encourage the George Floyd riots, destroying hundreds of small and black owned businesses and supporting bills to put tampon dispensers in boys grade school bathrooms.

F that guy. And F John McCain. And John Kerry. And Mark Kelly. You don’t get to enter politics with a Teflon coating just because you were military.

my son, a Marine SGT at the time was a single parent when the invasion of Iraq was coming up. He was told he did not have to go. His answer was “not go? Hell I’ve trained for this since I got in the Corps. My men depend on me”. He spent two combat tours in that little bit of heaven. I was darn proud of him (scared to death for him, but darn proud of the man he was. Any clown who take Unc’s $$ when things are good then turns and runs when things may get tough is, to me, nothing but a coward.

Man you guys are silly. Bad mouthing a man who spent 24 years in the military and retired to concentrate on running for political office, which he won.

I'm going to assume you were never in the military.

It isn't the fact that he retired even though he had committed to more time in order to be promoted to Command Sergeant Major.

It's the fact that he did it while the unit of which he was a senior non-commissioned officer was on orders for Iraq.

I don't know this but I will bet you that everybody else in that unit was on stop loss.

He resigned to get out of going to Iraq.

Tulsi Gabbard served in Congress and in the United States Army Reserve at the same time.

I have very little use for Buttigeg but I think he went to Afghanistan while he was in Congress
