I have had bad luck with Sketchers. Last few pairs, very comfortable when new, but break down quickly. The memory foam inside loses it's comfort way too quickly, and overall, they just don't hold up well. Not crazy expensive, maybe the key is to just buy a new pair every 6 months?
Currently I have a pair of Merrell boots for work, and I wear them in evenings and weekends some, too. They are ok. Not impressed and don't understand they hype. My feet are sore by the end of the day. They are supposed to be waterproof and definitely aren't, and they aren't the warmest things I have ever had. I got them for half off so for the price, they're....ok. If I would have paid full price I'd be very upset/disappointed.
Prior to the Merrel's I have a pair of Columbias that I wore everyday for about 3 years. Loved them. Actually still have them, they're still useable but have seen better days. I will probably try going back to Columbias when I get new ones.
