Show off your 1911

This is my prototype for the one I will be manufacturing. I would have started already but getting the parts has been problematic.

When I went out the other day to gun shop, my intention was to get the Colt Competition model in .45, but price went up from $1100.00 to &1495.00, passed on the Colt, it was nice though, then they had series 70 .45 in stainless, honestly, it looked like crap, who ever did the final finishing job needs glasses, then I saw the Springfield RO Operator, got it instead. Your Colt looks good in the green/black finish.

Another post got me thinking about these two, so I dug them out of the safe. I'd always been curious about 1911's, but they were just too expensive. In early 2019 Remington ran a huge rebate special on their R1 models. I picked up the original R1, and liked it enough to buy the R1 Enhanced Commander about a month later. I was able to purchase both for about $400 each after the rebate. One day I'll make the jump to Springfield, but for now these are my only traditional 1911's.
