Springfield Armory 1911 Question

Hi,

I have come across Springfield Armory 1911 on one of the auction sites that has me a little confused. It is a 45 acp 5" govt size gun. It is 2 tone blue slide/stainless frame. The seller has it listed as a loaded model. It also has bomar style adj rear sight. I have looked at Springfield Armorys site and google for the last 2 days. I can only find all stainless models called loaded target. Mostly in 9mm. I can't find any 2 tone model in 45. The seller knows nothing about other than it's a Springfield Armory 1911. And admits to guessing the loaded part & has only one pic of the left side. It has all the loaded features, plus the bomar type rear sight.

Does anyone know what model this might be?

Thanks,

These are the only pics I have of it.

Well I bought the gun. Just spent the last 4 hours taking it completely apart and cleaning it thoroughly. At some point someone put some sort grease on the gun. Over time this grease turned into the consistency of ear wax. it seeped every where. The trigger job I was told it had felt like the last Taurus 1911 I handled. Now after the cleaning it breaks a little over 3 lbs. Not having shot it yet. The only thing I can fault is the black finish looks like krylon. Pics to follow tomorrow.
Thanks for the comments.

Thanks. Would the sight date be visible while on the gun? Or do they have to be removed. all i see other than the Springfield name is on the front site. it says trijicon then below that F H3 12.

Not sure on that, but if I remember right on Springfields that have night sights, there have a 10 year warranty, but I may be wrong.

Well I'll be contacting Springfield Monday. i have a few questions.
Yea, that would be best, that way you can also get more information on the gun, I think you didn’t go wrong getting it, it’s really a nice one, by the look of the blue box in your one pic, I would say it was probably a 1990’s gun, I had several of them with that same box color and mine were purchased in the 90’s. Anyway enjoy it.

The sights were made in 2012 (that’s what the “12” means). The F might be the height/model, Trijicon is the lamp manufacturer, H3 designates tritium (Hydrogen 3) lamps.

I’d venture they are original to the gun, as they have Springfields name on them.

Lamps have a half life of about 8-10 years, iirc. They should still be usable, but not super bright.
