Springfield Armory Range Officers

Not big on rails on a handgun but I really like the all black.
The Viridian has the "ECR" feature. (Enhanced Combat Readiness) It turns off the light and laser when you holster it and turns it on to the last setting when drawn, IF you buy their holster. I found a custom leather maker who supports this system and have ordered a horsehide shoulder rig similar to a Galco Miami Classic. The wait time on that was 12 weeks. Who knows when I'll ever see it given the current state of things. I don't mind the Viridian holster but it's weak on configurations. You can either mount it on your belt or... on your belt. I have one for a Glock that I kluged into a shoulder rig but a kluge is a kluge. I'm looking forward to the custom leather rig. I prefer a shoulder holster for driving. The belt mount is not only uncomfortable in a seat belt but also hard to access.
The Viridian X5L has been cheap recently. The newer model also has a camera so the gen 2 model is easy to find at half price now. I picked up two from Optics Planet back in November. They come with a coupon so you can order the holster for half price too. (Plus shipping.)

i am trying to find replacement fiber optic sights for my champion 9mm. i need a taller front sight as the factory sight is set to shoot about 4 inches high at 20 yards. or will an adjustable rear sight allow me to hit point of aim?

Either will work.

A better question is—what’s your hold? Are you covering the bull with the fiber optic dot, or are you holding with the bull on top of/over the dot?

I run a Viridian ECR on my XD-s. Another option for holsters that work with the ECR is Alien - I have a couple of their hybrids that are made specifically for my combination. If you go to their site, they have a button for "lights/lasers", and you can search within that for manufacturer/model.

Since steveb (Hey! Maybe we're related.) brought this thread back to my inbox I'll post an update on the 9mm RO Elite Operator that didn't like to cycle the Federal HSTs. So you don't have to scroll back up, it was iffy with the 124gr and abysmal with the 147gr. I put a light polish on the feed ramp, taking it easy - can always do a little more - and it made a great improvement. 100 rds of the 124gr went through, no problem. I had a single failure to feed in 50 rounds of 147gr. I think I'll hold off any further polishing and just keep feeding and cleaning it for a while.

I've installed a Wilson Combat Shok Buff just to see what it does and am thinking about their full length guide rod kit for both this one and my .45. I also picked up a pair of Cool Hand grips to fill the gap left by the bevel of the factory grips not matching the contour of the magwell I had installed. So I'll lose a few points with the guys who liked the all black, but here's a picture the way I've been running since a week or so after we last talked.

That's a Wilson Combat 10 rd mag fitting right nicely into the magwell. Thanks for all the advice, guys!
