Springfield Armory XD-M Elite OSP in MAGPUL OD Green Cerakote

So Springfield Armory has a Sportsman Warehouse Exclusive XD-M Elite OSP 10mm in Cerakote MAGPUL OD Green (H-232). I couldn't get one, but got a regular XD-M Elite OSP 10mm locally.

So I Cerakoted in MAGPUL OD Green (H-232) and went a little further, I cerakoted the frame as well as the slide and grip backstrap...

I still need to work the mag release back and fourth more, the coating seemed to interfered with the bore for the button, its moving smoothly now, but can still hang up from time to time...

I also installed the Powder River Precision Trigger Kit for the XD-M Elite while re-assembled it.
I have to reserve judgement on it until I break it in.... ...this kit comes with a replacement sear as well as the other parts that come in the standard XD-M kit (the trigger is a little different on the XD-M Elite)... The fit was very tight, and its starting to smooth out, but the trigger pull is heavier than my XD-M kit... I'm hoping after shooting a hundred rounds through it, it will loosen up, break-in and the trigger pull weight come down.... ....It does have the benefits of the other kit, less take-up, shorter pull and over travel, with a cleaner break and reset...

Did it myself.

Cerakote, it is important to lay it down in a single thin coat, and being an amateur using cheap tools, I still am doing a less than perfect job. I've done 4 pistols and a dozen small parts for other pistol...

I've got the prep right, so the coats are adhering and adequate toughness...

But the actual spraying I'm still need improving, past I had the coat on way to thick... ...on this one, if you look close you can see some wavy-ness on the broad flanks of the slide.... its fine enough you can't see it in the photos, you have to look close in good light to see it with pistol in hand...

So, for Cerakote, if you want a perfect job, I'd recommend you take it to a profession, especially if you only want to do one or two jobs, you'll never recover the cost of all the tools and supplies in any savings over one or two jobs of doing Cerakote yourself...

BTW, the Sportsman Warehouse Exclusive the frame is the natural Polymer Black with the grip backstrap and slide being MAGPUL OD Green.... ....if you look close the difference in substrate and the surface after blasting results in slight difference in tone, probably from how the light is reflected... ...might be why SA opted not to do the entire pistol in the same color, you can't get a perfect match coating different materials..

A quick follow up....
I put 60 rounds through it today...
The trigger is improved, but still heavier than I hoped...
The sear seems to have loosened up and there is no additional friction...

So tonight I swapped out the reduced power spring in the trigger for the even lighter competition spring that also comes in the kit...
That did the trick, its down to 4.5-4lb trigger pull now....
The XD-M with the kit for the XD-M, seems to have a touch more wall and noticeable break than the XD-M Elite and the kits for the Elites... ...the kit for the XD-M Elite has a replacement sear, while the kit for the XD-m re-uses the existing sear...
I don't know if sears break in, but the pistol with a brand new sear has a little less noticeable wall and break than the one that re-uses the existing sear...

beautiful cerakote and overall job. btw any info on installing that eflx? i.e. did you need to cut down screws or did you use standard eotech screws etc. i have a springfield armory xd9 3"subcompact, (happens to use the same tulster oath holster that an xdm elite compact uses so bodies are almost the same minus length) that im considering having powder river precision mill a delta point pro footprint for me to install the eflx and i have only seen it installed on glocks...sigs, and caniks. thanks for any info. any top view pics of your xdm? thanks.

AFA as the EOTECH EFLX, no problem mounting. My only problem was the adapter plate (the EFLX uses the Leupold Deltapoint Pro adapter BTW) is so tight fitting, the Cerakote actually interfered. I had to file it down a bit and re-spray the adapter plate.

Someone has been posting the EFLX are having issues with to many of them having problems out of the box. I have not heard that and this one I purchased direct from EOTECH has been perfect. I really like it.

Then I got one for my Desert Eagle, from a retailer and not EOTECH direct. This is a .50AE caliber pistol, the recoil is extreme, I've only shot it once so far, and noticed several times after firing the EOTECH dot dimmed, and I had to increase brightness. I did it less often the more I shot that session, but still it should never had done it all. So I'll to see if this continues.

BTW, OETECH says they will be producing a FDE EFLX this year. I haven't seen it offered yet, but they say its coming.

Thanks for the reply. Good to know to buy straight from Eotech. Though now im prob going to go closed emmiter optic on my Springfield XD9 SC. I love the Elite sights but Springfield does not sell them so I put in Standard (Non OSP) Hellcat Sights after grinding the back hook a bit. They keep me on target quicker than the factory sights.
