Springfield Saint Edge AR 15 Pistol

My local shop ordered one (556/10.3") for me direct from Springfield early July. (did not take a deposit)
Got a call from him yesterday and he said he had one coming that would be here early next week and asked if I still wanted it. Expecting it Monday or Tuesday. Quoted me $1559 and tax. (Not sure if that one is coming straight from SA or one of his distributors.)

Looked at Gunbroker tonight and there seems to be more listed than I've seen in a while from sporadic checking. Seems like a batch may be just hitting dealers right now.

Hope that helps and you get it soon -

Wow, that's a long wait. I hope you get it soon. The last year has been a crazy one for getting firearms. Now you get to try to find ammunition that doesn't cost and arm and a leg.

I already bought one thousand rounds online a couple of months ago and had night a few boxes at a time before that.

Considering this period of time must surely be a great business opportunity for Springfield A. wondering why there is little info coming out to potential customers??
I wish I had a business like this.
If there are supply chain problems holding it all up, maybe say so as it would keep people more patient and not go to their second choice?

You are thinking too small.... there are thousands and thousands of gun dealers. Springfield could release 20 thousand of one Saint today to a distributor. In seconds those guns are gone. Just my local bubble the 5 gun stores I fix guns for all have outstanding orders for any AR as they distributor can allocate them. Then stores like Birmingham Pistol Wholesale/ gunprime.com, vans sporting goods are mega stores that buy guns by the truck load. They have 20 or more employees and still can not keep up with the demand as people are waiting in lines to buy something. BPW/gunprime has never run out of AR’s orSaints you just have to expand your area of search.

Not sure what 'thinking small' insult has to do with what I was talking about?
We know there is a shortage..and if fulfilled would sell out quickly.
What businesses do to HOLD their customer base is to be transparent and put out the info customers need to help make decisions. ..like they are having steel supply chain issues....thanks to Benstt above.
While there is a Ruger that is similar, I may want to support SA and just wait...just not wait for 6 more months till Biden does something damaging to our rights!

While I was trying to get my Saint Edge Pistol over the past 7 months, the LGS manager told me his SA rep was vague and he could not get anything from him regarding timelines, production etc. I emailed SA directly - Late July, I was told "we are quoting 90 days" for back orders. Emailed the same SA contact Nov. 19 and got - 6-12 months.

Another salesman I work with at the same shop told me -
Just be patient. You can get whatever you want, you have to be willing to wait.

Seems like when I go into a couple of my local shops - if I wanted an AR - they had stock. If you are looking for something specific, you have to get lucky (right place/right time) or have patience.

I don't think that was an insult. I think XDMan was saying look at the entire supply chain. Springfield isn't supplying just one shop, they're supplying thousands of shops. They can't keep up with the demand from all their distributors. I think he was saying think macro not micro. XDMan is not the type to insult people so I wouldn't read that into his intentions.

I would agree with this. Was thinking the same thing.
