Springfield Tolerances...bless 'em!

So I ended up with a Loaded 1911, and I liked everything about it...well, except for the forward cocking serrations. They leave me cold, just as a rail on a 1911 does. The trigger was great out of the box. So, what to do? Fit a top end off a Mil-Spec of course. Harks back to the Pachmayr Combat Special that Ray Chapman and Ross Seyfried used to carry in the early days. With fixed sights, of course. Which is fine by me as it shot point of aim with 230 grain ammo on both frames.

Thanks. It shoots well and has not missed a beat...as I would have expected. The dimensions on the 1911 are pretty ironed out by now, and since it was just a top end swap no fitting was required. It is my only 1911 with an ambidextrous safety in case I am ever asked to star in an action movie and I need to carry two 1911's in a Galco shoulder rig! The Baer is my favorite pistol...it is always at the top of the list when the campfire discussion rolls around to "If you could only have one pistol for everything...".
