Stainless Hellcat

One of my local gun shops just got in the new stainless Hell-Kitten with the OSP option early this morning. On a whim I called and they hadn't sold it yet so they're holding it for me. Now the question is do I keep my all black one or trade it in ? Ideas? Thoughts anyone ?

Do you want two? Will keeping it serve a purpose other than being in the collection.

If you are so inclined a backup edc is not a terrible idea. Even if not carried guns do breakdown and having a spare might be considered worthwhile.

i'd not bother with it.

in my state, we have to carry concealed, so why bother, for the same basic gun?

if it were a revolver, then i could see buying it (in S/S), but the same basic gun..??

I have difficulty ever getting rid of a gun. The only time I ever do it is when I'm trading-up for something. If finances allow, I'd hold onto both guns until I found something else that I wanted more. One of the benefits of the Hellcats is that they are small enough that you can carry two.

I got the black a little after it came out, then they released the FDE and had to have it. Then I though what the hell am I gonna do with two. So I took the Ruger LC9 from the misses and sold that and gave her the black Hellcat and I've been carrying the FDE since.

Do what you want and what makes you happy.

I have to admit that new SS Hellcat looks great.

in contrast, i have NO problems selling off a gun or 2.

they are a commodity, that can be bought and sold at the snap of a finger.

here i sit, with a "mini" collection of like 30 guns, only recently selling off my Canik.

i have "tentative plans" to sell off my Korth Mongoose 6" 357 Silver DLC finish revolver, in the coming days or weeks.

why..??

many reasons, 1 being i just don't shoot it all that much.

i have a S&W 686 + and a Colt Python, in the same length and caliber. i haven't decided to keep or sell 1 of those.

in time, once i buy the Sig STX 1911 i have on order, many MORE of my collection will be sold off.

i am favoring the 1911's over the 9mm's and revolvers, hands down.

space is NOT an issue for me, time to shoot'em all, is not an issue for me either.

i think in the end, what i was told by a couple of guys at the range and even my club is that....

"better to have a few guns that you shoot, and shoot well (many of you have seen pics of my targets) then a collection that you can never get to shoot enough of".

also, of all my kids, grandkids, none of them have any interest in my collection, so it be best for my Mrs to only have to deal with a "few" rather than a whole roomful, when i die. i already have my lawyer up to date on selling them.

same with my 2 reloading presses and all the dies, and components. they are a commodity, that can be sold in a heartbeat.

I own a Hellcat and I am a pleased customer but I would like to see "New" 2011 or Commander 38 super carry or XYZ instead of a new twist to the same sub compact. Simply my opinion

i was at my local mom & pop gun store, just yesterday in fact. the manager was going thru a website, to order some guns for his store.

he said, he cannot understand the super 38 or 30 that is out there.

and he won't order them.

i agree, i see no more need for more calibers, in fact, i say cut them back, to the calibers that really sell, rather than "just to have 1 or 2 in stock".

I can understand and appreciate the owners view. My LGS at last check had the Hellcats, Hellcat OSP's, Hellcat with Optic, and 2 Pro's. Yes they sell, but for me I think how many models do we need and can't effort be put elsewhere.
