Steal cased ammo & M1A

Well, what’d da ya know, I’m not the only one. I’m going to try again today and let ya know what happens. I’m ready to swap it for an AR or just use it as a wall hanger. It’s not practical for me anyway, unless I attach a bi-pod and hire a Sherpa to carry it for me. Lol. It’s so dang cool though.
Don't you dare trade it in! Hold on to it for 30 years and you can sell it for 5 times what you paid. Maybe a lot more if no one does anything to stop inflation sometime soon.

I would try again the next time you go to the range and make sure your bolt is rotating over and closing completely on the 7.62 rounds. It should be if it shoots ok with .308 but you never know.
You were right. I tried again and they worked fine. It was my fault. The mags I’m using aren’t Springfield. I think I paid about $20.00 for them. They aren’t easy going in or taking out. They work but that first round I really have to mess with in order to get it to load right and make sure the bolt goes forward all the way.

Ya, I had a totally different experience this last time out. Other than my cheap magazines the gun worked flawlessly. Now I have to quit flenching every time I pull the trigger. I want to do some homework on scopes.

My Springfield mags were tough to engage at the beginning but are now either loosening up or I’m getting better at finding the right angle when putting them in.
You learned a valuable lesson, don’t go cheap on magazines as they are the heart of proper operation.
