Stolen Flag Pole

Went to recycler on the way to base. Sure enough I saw it leaning up against the wall. The guy said he just got it yesterday, I said I had one stolen from my yard yesterday. He wanted me to pay for it and I said I wanted it for free. I said if I didn't get it for free I would call cops and have them look around the property to find other stolen property. He offered to bring it to the house, which he did, and he felt better when I put it back in the receptacle that was in the front yard. He also gave me name and address of person he got it from. I will bring it to the cops this afternoon and let them know I want to press charges. I did not ask how much he gave for it. Here it is in all its glory.View attachment 63605
maybe for an unfortunate future theft.....find a way to either engrave your name on it, or just inside the pole at the bottom?

on the chances of another person having the same name as yours, then maybe engrave your drivers license number as well.???

maybe have a welder add a unique piece of metal to the pole, then take pics of it with the day's current newspaper, keep that paper as proof...this is what i have done with body damage to one of my cars, as proof as to when it happened, that paper sets a time line/date, that cannot be disputed.

i dunno, just a thought.

and yes, i too am glad you got it back...and i'd still would press charges.

here is what i speak of, regarding the newspaper with my car...

some "icehole" said i backed into his car, and caused over a grand worth of damage...

when i took this picture to the lawyer and THAT newspaper as well...??

the "icehole" shut up his piehole..........

i no longer have that car, nor the newspaper

Electrify It

So basically, they can back up a truck to your house. Steal everything in site. and your not suppose to confront them. Your supposed to stay in your home. Call 911. Were protected (?) by county police who don't patrol our area on a regular basis due to a shortage of officers. Estimated arrival time minimum one-half hour. This was discussed by our HOA and they county sheriff. Long story short. Were on our own

In a free society you are allowed to protect your property. You are not allowed to kill someone to protect it, but if you confront someone and they then pose a threat to your life then you aren't killing to protect property, you are killing to protect your life.

Please keep us posted. I'm very curious to know if the LEOs do their job and if the prosecutor does theirs. I have my doubts.

I have a or I should say had a Sunsetter Telescopic Flag Pole in my front yard. It has been there for almost 30 years. When pulling into the driveway a little while ago I noticed its gone! My neighbor told me she saw 2 scuzballs pull up to my house and get out of the car and pull the flagpole out of the ground. The base is cemented into the ground and the pole is inserted into the base. They did this in broad daylight--a 20ft flag pole! Just can't believe it. Waiting for the cops to show up to take a report. Guess they are at the local donut shop having lunch!
Filing a report around here is the sheriff tells you to go online and file the report. Then it goes into the abyss of "filed reports". Too bad the pole wasn't hook up to a circuit and they'd be filing a different report.

You're not alone. Average response time to a 911 call in Bexar County/San Antonio is 40 minutes. So yes, we were on our own.
