Stuck receiver bolt

Sorry but never been a fan of jokes at the expense of someone I do not know, just me I guess.

I just purchased a high point 45 caliber carbine. I pull the bolt back and it locked. I cannot get it to release. I do not have the clip in it. It was stated to pull the bolt back and let it loose like all of this type. The bolt is locked and will not pull further than it is. Recommendations please.

In all seriousness and candor, if this is your first gun I would HIGHLY recommend waiting a little bit and getting one you know will work, even if you have to get it used. If it's just for plinking then no worries but if there's even a little bit of self protection concerns involved then the extra hundred or two are well worth it. A life is worth way more than money. Since you're talking about a carbine and not a pistol I'm guessing this isn't a carry gun but more something around home. If that's the case then I'd recommend a solid 12-gauge pump. You can get a Mossberg for less than $300.

Welcome to the forum from South Texas. Obviously can't speak for everyone but I bet a lot of us made mistakes when we're new shooters, know I did. Sounds like he asked a honest question and just maybe we need to cut him a little slack. Just my opinion.

The real joke is on those who totally trash things without having any experience with them.
I've had to work on a few of them and I personally know a cop who owes his life to one. One that jammed. I'll trash a Taurus GC2 or GC3 too. Guess what ? I've had to work on those too. Total pieces of crap IMO.

The only thing I may be guilty of trashing without trying ( and even then I ALWAYS mention that I have never had one, but would still not buy one) is Turkish handguns.

Welcome @jjtraveling from N.E. FLA, I hope you got an answer to your question. A great group here, just mind your grammar, punctuation and tone. And be careful not to offend the "Higher and Mightier" types and you will be fine.

Just a little sarcasm folks, always good to have a new voice in the forum...
Can we have a list of the higher and mightier types ? You know, so we can avoid them. :ROFLMAO:
