Student Loan Forgiveness - Plan B

After being slapped down by SCOTUS now Plan B is a Jedi-mind trick to forgive $1.3 trillion for 30 million loan holders.

After paying/working my way through 6 yrs. of college I don't want to pay for someone's free-ride college education.

This whole (loan forgiveness) thing is maddening. First of all, there is no such thing as loan forgiveness unless done by the lender. What this is, is nothing more than unarmed robbery by the gov't (specifically the Potus) of the taxpayers.

There is a very simple way that those who take part in this charade can "get the relief they need" from their student loans ... they could pay the damned thing. Yeh, they might have to do a few less Starbuck Lateas, maybe survive with a $500 cell phone/contract instead of a $2500 one, hell they might even have to live with a 45" flat screen without all the extras instead of a 78" loaded. I dunno, maybe just me but it seems pretty simple for them to do something like that and I wouldn't have to pay their loans even after I paid every damned cent of mine by working 2 jobs at times, eating balona every once in awhile, and staying home more night than I went out partying.

I hope every voter who thinks this is wrong, should think long and hard about who they'll vote for this November. We all know which side will continue this crap, and this just scratches the top of what's to come.

The reason all these young people are drowning in debt is because they wasted that loan money of some BS liberal arts degree and can't find a job or make a living with it. A degree in something like modern dance or gender studies doesn't present many job opportunities.
However, students who put that loan toward a STEM degree have good jobs and paid it all back.
This loan forgiveness crap is a reward for stupidity. 🤬

Lets not forget that there is already a student loan forgiveness/reduction plan for at least some maybe all loans. All one has to do is agree to work for X number of years, at a reduced income, where the Gov. feels you are needed the most, and poof you good to go. Yes, you have to commit to some years of service, no you can't live in mom basement, and you're probably not going to get rich in the first year. CRY ME A BLEEPING RIVER. A lot of good men and women where working, PAYING TAXES, trying to support their family while these 🤬 was spending 4,6,8,10, years playing organized grab @$$, and now these same taxpayers are supposed to pick up the tab. Spoiled, pampered, useless, self-absorbed, narcissistic, 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬. Oh, and don't forget, now that they are edumacated. The rest of us ignorant surfs need to eat, live, vote, do whatever we are told. It's for our own good they know best:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Once Obama switched student loans over to the Federal govt. the university system saw the cash cow arriving and started making colleges/universities a "cruise boat" experience for students.

Plus, then the colleges/universities started building up huge endowments while raising prices on the students.

Then, a certain party decides to buy votes on the backs of the overall taxpayers.

Absolutely that happened. My local state college went from very affordable to might as well go to the University of Illinois price. All the student high rise apartments were demolished and very decadent French chateau type apartments were built in their place. I swear to god they remind me of a ski resort I couldn't afford one night at. 4 yr degree now approaches 70k+.
Stupid ridiculous.

and what about those who don't have student loans because they pay in full each semester! do we get our money back and more as that would be fair! that's alright, just don't do forgiveness!
Unfortunately No, you do not get any money back. You're too small a number in the tradeoff/formula for votes in place of loan "forgiveness"! As well those who chose to go into a business rather than to college. None of their start up costs are covered, none of their initial equipment investment costs are covered, and certainly no costs of living while getting that business started. It seems no one gets reimbursed, or forgiven for doing the right thing.

Well, I think I understand what you're saying, but in reality not everyone with a STEM degree has made an effort to pay back their student loans ... and unfortunately some never will make an attempt. But generally speaking those who did get STEM degrees will find jobs and make far more money than the 'basket weavers' in most cases.

That's what makes it such a good deal for the gov't.
