Subbies on steroids

I'm not a fan of snubbies.
I'm not a fan of the word/term "snubby." IMHO, it's quite stupid. But that's a rant for another time. ;)

And IMHO, the stupidest "snubby" ever made was the S&W M15 2". Big square butt, adjustable target sights, and too-short ejector rod. It's a complete contradiction of purposes you can hold in your hand. (The 2.5" M19 is almost as bad. At least the butt is rounded, you have a little more sight radius to work with, and it's kinda badass-looking.)

Now, round-butt it. Add just one inch of barrel, which gives you more sight radius, better "feel," more velocity, and a full-length ejector rod. Leave off the fragile, snagging adjustable sights. Now you have the 3" heavy barrel M10 (and, in .357, M13), which is--again, IMHO--about the finest carry revolver ever made. Make it in stainless and .357 (M65) and it's even better. Almost perfect--almost.

Chic Gaylord was on the right track back in 1960 with his "Metropolitan Special." ;)

Nice Astra always liked those. I think George Cloony used one in From Dusk to Dawn

Anni loves his big guns!!!
Little story on the Ruger, took my brother out and he wanted to try it and asked how much it kicked, so I loaded up 2 .45 250gr colts and the rest was full power 260gr .454, fired the two shots and said not bad, have him the gun and he cracked off one, gun went over his head, eyes got big, called me a few names…I never laughed so much…yea, I was a bad brother then……😬😬

Used to shoot a 4" 29 quite a bit, 30 years ago. Now with arthritic hands have to wear gloves too shoot 45acp 1911's. Have to admit those big boomers are very interesting. I'm not gonna buy one but if I knew someone that had one I would love to shoot it, at least a couple of times.
