Suppressor process...

This issue started on a couple other threads for me, but figured I'd give it it's own thread. I ordered my suppressor from Silencer Shop and used the kiosk in my LGS for fingerprints and all that. I am signed up for eForms.

I have been sitting on "Current Stage: Form 4 (Single Shot): Preparing for eForms" and an orange "Ready to Certify" for a little over a week now. Where is this in the process behind the scenes? In other words, is this in the hands of Silencer Shop or is it in the hands of my LGS?

Call your LGS as they should have reached out to you to schedule to come in for certification.

Yes SS should send a ready to certify email, at least that's what I experienced a few weeks ago. If the SS website shows your ready to certify I'd recommend reaching out to the LGS.

Its in the handa of SilencerShop.
I’ve been i that stage for 4 weeks now .
My LGS has called and emailed them dozens of times
Its a SS issue on their end.
I’m stuck in pending phase.

Thanks. I’ll address my LGS, but don’t want to push them if it’s not “their turn”. I’ve only been a little over a week in this stage, so I guess I have more time to wait.
 
Stopped by my LGS today. Little bit of a mess, but here's where they say they stand. I'll give the bottom line right now and fill in a little after.

While I was talking to one of the workers, the owner walked in. He said he had no pending paperwork from SS (not just for me, but for anyone) and has called them to confirm that. But he also said that the way SS is working now is that if a dealer is not registered with eFile, SS is not sending anything on to the dealer. My LGS is currently not registered for eFile with the ATF. Which confirms what the other guys were saying when I first bought the suppressor. The owner said that he's been trying to get set up with the ATF but keeps getting kicked out and errors. He has to call them and get things straightened out. So, no paperwork to them yet and my suppressor is not there yet.

I think the way they were doing things was a paper/eFile hybrid with SS. Apparently, you can't do that anymore so the pressure is on the LGS to get set up with eFile and the ATF.

So, I'm stuck in limbo right now. The owner did sound like he was pretty motivated to get this done. He said he should know something and have things set up within the next couple days. Hopefully, the call to the ATF will get things straightened out and the process will get kicked back in to gear...
 
Yeah, sad in a way, but at least my LGS will be pushed to get up and going on the eFile system. I'm not the only one stuck in this position with them. In the long run, I'm hoping by them getting up and running, my wait will still be shorter with the eFile than if I went the paper route...

I'll keep you updated with any new developments as they occur.
 
New update. My LGS just called me and let me know he got his account set up with the ATF. He also filled out the Form 3 with them, so my suppressor should be sent to them soon. His next step is to call SS and give them his ATF information and get the Form 4 done. So, we have progress!!

I’ll keep you up as the next steps progress.
 
Next update. Just did a live chat with SS. I asked a question I had and then asked if my Form 3 was completed and if the suppressor had been shipped to LGS yet. They confirmed that Form 3 was approved and dealer had my suppressor. One more step done in the process. Surprised my dealer hasn't contacted me yet about it. I may stop by later today and see what's up.
 
Went by LGS. They did have suppressor. Went back to the office with the owner and he pulled up his SS dashboard and my order was on there. He clicked on "Prepare" and the SS site started spinning. Should go through soon and I'll start waiting on the approval with the ATF. I'll let you all know when this next step is complete.

Got my "Ready to Certify" email this morning. Called my dealer to certify and the SS or ATF website is just spinning again. Progress, but this lack of capacity on the computers is irritating. At least we're moving along... Dealer will call me back when he gets in and then the wait is on.

Sorry to hear about your E-Form frustrations and hopefully you'll be able to certify soon and get this behind you.

I’m doing a trust, so it can be done remotely. Individuals must go in, but trusts can do it remote. On my SS dashboard, I get a box to click “Join Session” when the dealer is on the ATF website to certify my eForms. We’ve been kicked out twice now. I’m waiting again for my dealer to try to log back on and try again.

I’ve been in that stage for 4 weeks now.
SS internal error issue.

I’m canceling my SS tax stamps today and going to do the stamps over with the LGS.
