SV .308 Grip, 2 decants, 2 springs

Hello, I just purchased an ERGO Suregrip to replace the factory grip on my SV308 because I have very large hands, and long fingers. The SV308 grip has 2 decants and 2 springs. The ERGO grip only has a hole for 1 decant and spring. Do I have to drill a hole in the ERGO grip for the 2nd decant spring? I thought any AR grip would work because it is the same platform but I was clearly wrong. Any help from people wiser than I am is greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
Adam G.

The grip should work without drilling an extra hole but the extra hole will make keep the spring in alignment a lot easier. There's a chance the spring can bend if there is no pocket in the grip to receive it or the chance of loosing a spring while trying to tighten the grip.

Great, thank you! I think I will try to duplicate the spring holes on the factory grip and make it work. I have a drill press, vice, level, etc. I can make sure to get the depth right so the spring won't kink. Thank again for the quick response!

What model gun do you have, yes there are certain AR’s from different manufacturers that have a hole for the safety detent and have a second hole for the rear take down pin spring/detent. Usually this is because the stock or brace is not standard type connection. this is most common with an AR type lower that has a different rear end like one that has a 1913 rail connection instead of the buffer tube connection.

I have the Saint Victor .308. And yes that's exactly what they are, the rear pin, and safety decants and springs.
