Taurus TX22 — A Favorite for Fun and Practice

Now, back some years ago, I bought one of these off a sheriffs deputy when he was going back to a 1911, Taurus 945, this was a very accurate and dependable pistol

My wife and I each own a TX22. It is definitely one of the best plinkers on the market. I would recommend that high-volume shooters purchase the Lakeline Stainless Steel Recoil Assembly. Lakeline makes quality products, and the recoil assembly can be purchased for $32.99 on the Taurus website (even less during frequent sales).

I recommend replacing the recoil spring assembly because my TX22 slide cracked after about 2,000 rounds. Taurus replaced the slide under warranty, but I had to pay shipping and wait 6 weeks for the repair. The return shipping cost almost as much as the Lakeline assembly, which would most likely have prevented the damage in the first place.

The early TX-22's had that issue & it's been corrected.

I also use the Lakeline Stainless Steel Recoil Assembly.

Seeing how a few have spoken about Lakeline recoil spring assemblies for the TX, anyone know if they work for the G3C? Is the TX plastic and thats the issue?

Just picked up a TX22 compact with the riton red dot. Polished the sear, striker and feed ramp and bore sighted it. I have to admit the trigger is better than my xdm elite in 45acp.

I took it to the range and shot 200 rounds of amscor 22 high velocity rounds. It only took a few rounds to get it dialed in and it ran flawlessly except for one bad round that didn't detonate.

It was very easy to shoot and very accurate. I think this will go with me to the range on every trip because its so much fun to shoot and i can go through 200 rounds for next to nothing.

PS:

My wife now loves it way more than her P22Q.
