The 3913 is on my list of “want but don’t need” (along with the 5906).
What does the NL mean on the 3913?

I always thought the 3913 was a great gun. A few years ago I walked into Glockmeister in Mesa, AZ and they had this one in the case. I glanced at it and thought the tag said $550. Asked to take a look at it and it was marked $250. I immediately left, got the cash and came back for it.

As you later said - its basically the Lady Smith (gray grip and lines) without the Lady Smith engraving/markings on the slide.

$250?! damn. it's like you stole it. my lgs had one in prime condition for $500. i was tempted but was paying off another gun at the time and couldn't swing it. sadly it went. i'm still kicking myself.

Most of my guns are from the 20th century. There hasn't been much made this century that interests me.
I had a S&W 3914 (blue) and it was a great gun. Foolishly sold it and have regretted it.
But a couple of years ago I bought a Sig P239. I actually like it better. ;)

The first handgun I ever owned was a S&W model 915. I bought it the day I got out of the Army.

There must have been something wrong with that particular gun (Not saying 915s in general) because it was inaccurate no matter who was shooting it. I ended up selling it.

I still have a soft spot in my heart for 915s but I'll never buy another.

6906. I bought it as a replacement for the 915. In a lot of ways it was I would almost say the perfect concealed carry gun but at some point I made a decision I was never going to carry a handgun with a safety on it for self-defense ever again.

I sold it and bought an M&P Shield.

4006 without question this is my Grail Gun. It is the only handgun I own that's not 9 mm it's the only handgun I own that has a manual safety.

I'm not even sure what it is about this gun that appeals to me so much. I wanted one for years but every time I had the money I couldn't find one and every time I found one I didn't have the money.

Then one day I went to a training class with my church security team and the guy in the lane next to me happened to be shooting a 4006.

I mentioned to him how bad I'd always wanted one and the next day after church he offered to sell it to me for $200. He said he wanted to make sure that he gave me a good deal. I want to clarify that he wasn't stupid. He knew the value of that gun, he was just trying to do me a favor.

I jumped on it.

I had a 915 also and had the same problem with it. I even went so far as to sit down in my back yard with my back against the clothes line pole and shot at 7 yards. I raised my knees and braced off of them. I fired each shot single action and it threw them everywhere. Didn't matter what brand or what grain bullet I used.
